Raptors’ OG Anunoby has emergency appendectomy, out indefinitely

A bad year for Raptors forward OG Anunoby just got worse.

Anunoby will be sidelined indefinitely after having an emergency appendectomy on Thursday night, a blow to the team as it prepares to open the NBA playoffs Saturday against the Orlando Magic.

OG Anunoby averaged 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this season for the Raptors.

There is no timetable for Anunoby’s return, the team said.

Anunoby missed 15 games in the regular season, in part for personal reasons and due to a wrist sprain and concussion-like symptoms.
