From the weekend, a bit of business we missed: the Toronto Raptors have officially signed small forward Alfonzo McKinnie to a multi-year, partially guaranteed contract. As with last season when the Raptors had a bunch of extra players heading into training camp, McKinnie will play for the team in Summer League and hope to make the roster for 2018-19.
McKinnie is a true feel good story. He was often overlooked by scouts and had to pay 150 dollars to try out for the Windy City Bulls of the G-League. McKinnie made the team and went on to become an All-Star and one of the best players in the D-League last season.
