Raptors officially send Cory Joseph to Pacers

The Raptors have completed a trade that will send Pickering native Cory Joseph to the Indiana Pacers.

Long expected, the deal will net Toronto a former second-round pick, forward Emir Preldzic, who has spent the last two seasons in the Turkish League.

Joseph was an excellent backup point guard and spot starter in Toronto – the Raptors went 15-7 with him filling in for Kyle Lowry last season when Joseph averaged career highs of 9.3 points and 3.3 assists per game.

But the emergence of Delon Wright as a viable backup going into his third season along with Joseph’s manageable salary made Raptors president Masai Ujiri feel comfortable dealing him away.
