Unhappy with his team’s defensive slip over the last month, Raptors coach Dwane Casey is starting to feel like a soap box preacher at noon on the corner of Bay and Front.
“I’m the only one in the room yelling and screaming, ‘Hey we’re not as good as we think we are,’ ” Casey said this morning, ahead of tonight’s game against the 18-45 Brooklyn Nets.
“Everybody’s patting everybody on the back.”
Casey’s Raptors are still second in the Eastern Conference, with a 41-20 record, but his frustration has grown as he’s watched his team get comfortable and stumble from ninth in defensive efficiency in January all the way to 27th a week into March.
