Raptors might be showing James, Cavs too much respect

Cavaliers are good, Casey says, “but we’re a good team, too, had the same record”

Cleveland's LeBron James, left, had 35 points against Toronto in Game 1.

CLEVELAND—The Toronto Raptors have a large measure of respect for LeBron James, just like everyone who watches or plays basketball does. The guy is so ridiculously talented it’s hard not to marvel at the things he can do on the court and, yeah, even opponents can get caught up in thinking, “Holy smokes, did he just do that to us?”

But the stakes at the moment are too high to give the most physically dominant player in the NBA today too much respect, and the Raptors need to put aside any miniscule amount of intimidation if they are to have any success in their Eastern Conference semifinal with James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
