Pascal Siakam’s ascension among the ranks of NBA stars continues.
A league source confirmed an original report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe that the fourth-year Raptors forward — coming off a breakthrough 2018-19 season — has agreed to a four-year maximum value contract worth in the neighbourhood of $130 million U.S. The source was granted anonymity because the deal has not been officially signed.
The Raptors had until 6 p.m. Monday to reach a contract extension with the 25-year-old Siakam or he would have become a restricted free agent.
The new deal will kick in after the 2019-20 season.
