Raptors’ Kyle Lowry named reserve for NBA all-star game

Lowry and teammate DeRozan headed to game together for second straight year.

Kyle Lowry, left, and DeMar DeRozan will be all-star teammates again.

In the midst of statistically the best season of his decade-long NBA career, Kyle Lowry is an all-star once again.

The Toronto Raptors point guard will make his third consecutive all-star appearance, voted in as an Eastern Conference reserve by coaches in balloting announced Thursday night.

Lowry joins a guard-laden East team that includes reserves Isaiah Thomas of Boston, Washington’s John Wall and Charlotte’s Kemba Walker. Kevin Love of Cleveland, Paul George of Indiana and Atlanta’s Paul Millsap were also named to the team.
