AUBURN HILLS, MICH.—Kyle Lowry got to sit back and watch a Toronto Raptors game instead of dominating it.
The all-star point guard, coming off a 43-minute outing Friday, was given Sunday’s game here off by coach Dwane Casey.
“We’re going to rest him tonight to make sure that going forward, we don’t wear him down,” Casey said before the Raptors faced the Detroit Pistons. “He’s in great shape, he feels good but I just think it’s time to start looking at that with him and possibly DeMar (DeRozan) at some point.”
Lowry had started all 57 games of the seasons for Toronto, averaging a career-high 37 minutes per game.
