MILWAUKEE—There is a matter-of-fact component to Jonas Valanciunas’s personality that has been constant since he arrived in North America, something that has been more pronounced these past few days.
He never really gets too excited publicly about what’s going on with him. After good games, he says he’s just doing his job; after bad games, he says he knows he has to be better and that he will.
He deflects praise by passing it off on his teammates and accepts responsibilities for his failings. He is one of the guys, no more important than any other, and willing to do whatever needs to be done.
