Raptors guard Kyle Lowry refuses to let thumb injury change his course

MILWAUKEE—Kyle Lowry wears the fingerless quilted blue glove he calls the oven mitt almost everywhere now. He sleeps with it on his left hand, to protect his thumb. It’s not an actual oven mitt, because oven mitts have fingers and this one doesn’t, but it creates compression and promotes circulation. And that doesn’t matter, because the thumb was dislocated and then injured again, and the thumb is screwed.

“Yeah, I will not be able to get it taken care of until after the season’s over,” Lowry said before the Toronto Raptors played Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final against the Milwaukee Bucks.
