CHARLOTTE These are new and exciting times for Gary Trent Jr.
He’s playing a significant role and major minutes on a playoff-bound team for the first time in his young NBA career and the sense of excitement and anticipation are palpable when he’s asked about it.
The games are coming fast and furious for Trent and the Raptors — six in eight nights beginning Friday here against the Hornets and it may sound taxing but he’s ready.
“This is the first time I’m playing about 35 to 40 minutes a game so as I’m going, trying to learn my body … when to rest, when to go get shots up, when to take the time off,” he said after the Raptors went through about a two-hour practice at the Spectrum Center on Thursday.
