Raptors’ Green rolls with life of a shooter

Next month will mark the 10th anniversary of the not-so-earth-shaking occasion of Danny Green’s drafting into the NBA. As a second-round pick who’d be cut twice before he finally found a longtime home with the Spurs, Toronto’s starting shooting guard was never anybody’s idea of a can’t-miss talent.

But the savvy eyes in San Antonio saw qualities that ultimately made him a key piece of a championship puzzle. And thanks to Green’s inclusion in last summer’s Kawhi Leonard deal, this past regular season saw him mount a late-career renaissance of sorts, shooting a career-best 46 per cent from three-point range that ranked second-best in the NBA among qualified gunners.
