The Toronto Raptors found themselves in an unfamiliar place on Friday night, with an unfamiliar but most welcome result.
A team that’s used to winning games by large margins and struggling late in close games put on an excellent finishing kick to beat the Washington Wizards 102-95 at the Capital One Arena.
The game was tied with about four minutes to go — often a time when the Raptors offence bogs down and reverts to a one-pass, one-shot style — when Toronto turned it on.
C.J. Miles had an excellent shooting night, making six three-pointers in a 20-point performance, none bigger than a falling-out-of-bounds corner three that gave the Raptors a six-point lead.
