The meeting between the Raptors and the man in charge of NBA referee training and development went on and on and on at the team’s practice facility.
A scheduled half-hour meeting stretched to 60 minutes, then 90 minutes, then a little bit more as the NBA’s Monty McCutchen went over new rules, new interpretations of old rules and covered the “points of emphasis” for the season that begins next week.
And when it was over, when the questions were asked and answered and the video study complete in the theatre-like setting in the back halls of the facility, Precious Achiuwa was on the court for a few minutes with McCutchen going over some of the finer points of the presentation.
