One of the truly neat things about an NBA playoff series as it opens is that teams think they know, but they don’t know. They have an idea of what to do, but they’re never quite sure and Game 1 is always a game of discovery.
The Raptors had an idea what they wanted to do against the Philadelphia 76ers: allow backups to play against starters if need be, because they wanted to stick with the rotations they’ve come to love, knowing it could very well have backfired.
