CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The Toronto Raptors have a big fan in Charlotte Hornets coach Steve Clifford.
Answering suggestions that the Raptors fly under the public radar despite their success of the past few years, Clifford said people in the know appreciate what the Raptors have done.
“To me, if you look in our league for the last three years, they’ve been the most under-appreciated team because they’re good at everything and nobody ever talks about it,” Clifford said before Hornets and Raptors played Friday night. “Coaches are going to say they’re really good, they’ve done a good job, yet when you hear people talk about the upper-echelon teams I never hear them mentioned, yet look at what they’ve done.
