It was beginning to look like the Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri had lost his front office mojo. Not being able to pry Paul Millsap from Atlanta or Nerlens Noel from Philadelphia, losing breakout performer Bismack Biyombo to the Orlando Magic and losing out on the Pau Gasol sweepstakes to San Antonio – it really looked like the Raptors’ offseason was all but done. The team had only managed to resign DeMar DeRozan to a 5 year, $139 Million contract extension, while signing draft picks Jakob Poeltl and Pascal Siakam to their rookie scale deals.

With Boston Celtics renouncing their qualifying on power forward Jared Sullinger, it made him an unrestricted free agent, opening the door for the Raptors to sign him at reportedly 1 year, $6 Million contract as per ESPN’s Marc Stein.
