Raptors fall to Wizards in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The dog days, Dwane Casey called them earlier in the day, that period when an NBA player can smell the all-star break and the much-needed respite it brings but it’s not upon them yet.

It’s a time for mental resolve and physical toughness, a stretch when teams need to fight through it rather than give into it.

At too many points and for too long, the Toronto Raptors succumbed here Thursday and it cost them.
