The best NBA regular season of DeMar DeRozan’s career is a little bit better now that he’s been voted in as an Eastern Conference starter for next month’s all-star game in New Orleans.
DeRozan, fifth in the league in scoring at 28.2 points per game before Thursday night, joins LeBron James and Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls forward Jimmy Butler and Milwaukee forward Giannis Antetokounmpo as Eastern Conference starters after voting by fans, players and a select panel of media that covers the league on a regular basis.
DeRozan’s teammate, Kyle Lowry, missed out on a starting spot and may now be added by conference coaches, who select the seven backups.
