Raptors credit LeBron James for helping them win NBA championship: ‘He definitely made us hungry.’

LOS ANGELES—It’s unprecedented, what LeBron James is doing at the ripe old age of 37 years — scoring, rebounding and assisting like a star player a decade younger and with far fewer miles on the body.

But it’s maybe not that huge a surprise because he is a singular talent and has been for almost two decades. To suggest he’d somehow dip just because history suggests he should is to deny his basketball brilliance.

“I don’t know if we’ve seen anything like it or if we ever will again,” Raptors guard Fred VanVleet said as the team prepared for Monday’s shootaround at the John Wooden Center on the campus of UCLA.
