Nick Nurse’s relationship with the NBA coach’s challenge is complicated.
The pair will always be linked after the Raptors head coach became the first to use the challenge, introduced on a trial basis for this season in an effort to cut down on the number of missed calls.
Nurse sent game officials to the monitor to review a play in the first quarter of the Raptors’ opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. He disputed an offensive foul called on Norman Powell, but the challenge didn’t go his way and he lost a timeout because of it.
