Nate Bjorkgren, the closest coaching confidant of Nick Nurse, is leaving the Toronto Raptors to become the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Bjorkgren has been with the Raptors since 2017 and has a relationship with Nurse that spans decades. They first worked together in 2007 with Des Moines of the NBA G League, the precursor to the D League.

The 45-year-old native of Storm Lake, Iowa, has also worked in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns and has coached at some level since the early 2000s.
