It was a professional win by a very good basketball team, one that recognized the weaknesses in the opposition and took care of business from the start.
It has not always been that way for the Toronto Raptors but this group of relatively seasoned veterans has shown a maturity that good teams have.
Taking control from the opening minutes and not succumbing to their usual five- or six-minute lapses, the Raptors destroyed the Brooklyn Nets 116-104 at the Air Canada Centre on Tuesday to close the home portion of the calendar year with another victory.
It’s not that the win was easy — it takes effort to beat any team of NBA players — but it was the thoroughness and businesslike manner in which it was achieved that will please fans.
