Raptors add another small guard to their ranks with first-round pick Malachi Flynn

New Raptor Malachi Flynn is going to learn his craft from Kyle Lowry and likely Fred VanVleet, and he’s going to be able to look them in the eye as he does.

The Raptors took Flynn, a six-foot-one guard from San Diego State, with the 29th pick in Wednesday’s NBA draft and will now let his two similar-sized but far more accomplished teammates help mould him into a professional.

The Raptors completed their draft night by taking Nevada guard Jalen Harris with the 59th pick.

Flynn, however, was a welcome surprise for the Raptors to get with their first first-round pick since 2017.
