The Toronto Raptors were once again scuffling on offense. Even though they were doing an admirable job of holding down the Detroit Pistons, the home team had done enough to grab a nine-point lead with 9:31 to play. Then Fred VanVleet, on the floor because of coach Dwane Casey’s unhappiness with his other point guards, drove the paint and threw an outlet pass to an open P.J. Tucker. His 3-ball found net, and the Raptors were off to the races.
The Pistons counted one bucket the rest of the game, and the Raptors turned a big deficit into an eye-popping victory by closing the match on a 24-3 run.
