The Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons are two teams in very different situations. After months of jockeying, the Raptors are currently two games ahead in the race for the Eastern Conference number one overall seed. Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons are 4.5 games back of the Miami Heat for the eight seed and are losers of eight of their last ten.
Things have not gone according to plan for the Pistons since acquiring star power forward Blake Griffin. When Griffin was first acquired Detroit went on a bit of a tear. Initially, the team found success winning its first five games after the blockbuster.
