The Toronto Raptors were in position to win their seventh straight victory in Los Angeles, until a Q4 of frosty shooting doomed their effort. In the finale of their four-game road trip, Toronto visits Phoenix needing a win to finish 3-1.
During last week’s win over the Suns, their top player (by a mile) Devin Booker came up lame. Since then, coach Jay Triano has cobbled together a starting lineup which has been surprisingly competitive though shy of wins.
Against San Antonio, the Suns got 25 points from Mike James, an older version of Fred VanVleet. He’s a 27-year-old rookie point guard Fred’s size, who wouldn’t give up his NBA dream and has found a home.
