The importance of enjoying a deep bench was clearly in evidence last night for the Toronto Raptors. On the second night of a back to back, the starters were sluggish and severely turnover-prone early. Quickly the hometown New Orleans Pelicans built a 14-point advantage.
Dwane Casey called upon C.J. Miles and others. Our 3-point specialist went to work, and by mid-Q2, he and his mates had reversed the situation. Though the Pelicans went into the break with a one-point lead, the Raptors were not to be denied. After the break, they bullied the Pels with 3-balls at one end, and tough D at the other, and walked off the floor the deserved winners.
