Adapting to new roles and responsibilities does not come easily to some basketball players who take time to adjust to what’s being asked.
But when it sinks in and a comfort level is reached, the game becomes easier, the team becomes better and a sense of normalcy descends.
Take the Raptors and Patrick McCaw of late as a prime example.
Moving into the starting lineup was one big change for the fourth-year guard, and then they piled on some ball-handling and play-calling responsibilities. Neither worked wonderfully at the start, but the transition has looked smoother in recent games.
