In this most unlikely of NBA seasons, it seems fitting that an unlikely matchup should be the biggest game of the season for the Raptors.
This is not Toronto-Milwaukee or Toronto-Philadelphia for first in the East, this is not Raptors-Warriors or Raptors-Lakers for first overall in the league and home court throughout the playoffs.
This is odd because this season is odd but it’s compelling regardless.
The Raptors and Washington Wizards, who last played a truly meaningful game against each other in the first round of the 2018 NBA playoffs, meet Thursday in Tampa in a unique game that’s the biggest of the season for Toronto.
