The question of which member of the Toronto Raptors will improve the most this upcoming season needs to have some boundaries put around it.
The MIR (Most Improved Raptor) can’t be:
- a veteran of more than seven NBA seasons anywhere
- a rookie (that’s not a problem this time – we don’t have any)
- newly arrived on our roster
By rule 1., Kyle Lowry, C.J. Miles, and Serge Ibaka, are ineligible. Rule 3. eliminates Kawhi Leonard, Greg Monroe, Danny Green, and Kay Felder.
That leaves these potential winners:
- OG Anunoby
- Norman Powell
- Lorenzo Brown
- Malcolm Miller
- Malachi Richardson
- Pascal Siakam
- Delon Wright
- Fred VanVleet
- Jonas Valanciunas
That’s too many people to grapple with, so I’ll cut the list further.
