Orlando coach says Raptors ‘absolutely’ a threat to win East

Frank Vogel believes the team’s true strength is yet to be realized with Kyle Lowry sidelined by an injury.

DeMar DeRozan has carried a larger offensive role since Kyle Lowry has been out.

After watching his Indiana Pacers lose to the Toronto Raptors during last year’s playoffs, there are few who know Dwane Casey’s team like Frank Vogel.

So it should be a comfort to Raptors fans to hear that the coach, now with the Orlando Magic, considers Toronto “absolutely” a threat to win the East this season.

“You see the way they’re playing without Kyle right now, obviously they were in the conference finals last year, so they’re definitely in the conversation,” he said on Monday.
