It was a stunning finish to a nerve-wracking playoff game, ending with OG Anunoby hitting one of the biggest shots in Raptors franchise history to give Toronto a 104-103 victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday.
Raptors fans went through a roller-coaster of emotions as the Celtics had just scored with 0.5 seconds left to give Boston a 103-101 lead. It seemed like nothing short of a miracle would prevent the Celtics from taking a 3-0 series stranglehold lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series.
But fans then swooned over Kyle Lowry’s perfect, cross-court, in-bounds pass over seven-foot-five Tacko Fall of the Celtics; admired Anunoby’s ability to — not just get off the shot in less than half a second — but make the basket; and marvelled at how the unflappable forward calmly walked away like he’d made a playoff game-winning buzzer-beater plenty of times before.
