It’s trite to label OG Anunoby as simply a three-and-D guy, a lockdown defender whose offensive production is measured by how many three-pointers he makes.
It’s kind of unfair because the fourth-year Raptors forward does contribute more to the offence than standing in the corner waiting to take shots from behind the arc.
“The one thing I really like about OG is the finishes right at the rim,” coach Nick Nurse said recently. “I think when he gets down in there — whether it’s a cut or at the end of drive, and he gets on balance — he usually uses his kind of wide body, wide shoulders, whatever, to get himself a bounce and a decent shot up, and he’s pretty good at finishing those.
