One step back, two steps forward is how the proverb goes. Conversely, the Toronto Raptors 2019-2020 season has been more depictive of the opposite – something more resembling one step forward; two steps back.
Most recently, this has been demonstrated through the return of Norman Powell, which was expected to put Toronto one healed Marc Gasol away from a healthy top-8 for the first time since January 28th.
Instead, Powell’s return coincided with the simultaneous injuries of Fred VanVleet, and Serge Ibaka, who have consequently missed the Raptors past three games.
