Norm Powell agrees to four year, $42-million extension with Raptors

HONOLULU—The faith the Raptors have shown in Norm Powell on the court has now been extended to the pay window.

Powell has agreed to a four-year, $42-million contract extension that will kick in at the end of the 2017-18 season, league sources said, confirming an original ESPN.com report.

The 24-year-old Powell has emerged as a powerful offensive force for the Raptors over his first two seasons with the team; averaging 8.4 points in 18 minutes a game last season while shooting 45 per cent from the field.

With the departure of DeMarre Carroll, Powell’s role will increase this season, even with the acquisition of C.
