The Raptors are going to deal with Delon Wright’s future in the future.
The team let a Monday night deadline pass for agreeing to a contract extension with the 26-year-old guard, meaning Wright will become a restricted free agent next July.
It was not a surprising move. Wright is seen as a viable part of the team’s future but not having long-term money tied up leaves the luxury-tax-paying franchise with some measure of flexibility next summer.
