There was one very difficult, very vexing question that drove some of the key components in the balloting for the NBA’s post-season awards: Could voters rationalize making either Nikola Jokic or Joel Embiid a forward to allow them both to be first team all-NBA players?
I couldn’t.
It’s not that I’m right and anyone who decided the other way is wrong. I wrestled with it for a long time and almost talked myself into it. In the end, I couldn’t do it.
I don’t imagine I’ll be in the majority when the final votes are revealed sometime near the end of the playoffs and that’s fine.
