Nick Nurse loves shooting and loves shooters, so it is no surprise that the Raptors head coach is considered the organization’s resident shot doctor by many of his players.
The latest beneficiary of Nurse’s care seems to be small forward OG Anunoby, whose improved jump shot led to a career high 24-point night against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday. But non-traditional shooters like Pascal Siakam and more natural shot takers like guard Matt Thomas have also benefitted from the coach’s insights.
Point guard Fred VanVleet believes most of Toronto’s players have become better shooters during their time with Nurse and the Raptors.
