NBA Rumor Central: Can the Raptors keep Bismack Biyombo?

The Toronto Raptors signed backup center Bismack Biyombo to a contract paying $2.81 million this season and it has turned out to be a bargain. Biyombo will likely decline his player option worth $2.94 million for next season, so he can join the 2016 free agent market on July 1.

The Raptors will likely operate as an over-the-cap team in July, which limits what they can offer Biyombo. Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca writes: "It will likely require some significant salary cap magic and perhaps some sacrifice on the part of the likes of DeMar DeRozan, who could open up additional room by taking a contract that’s a little less than the maximum but still more than any other team can offer.
