Toronto Raptors center Bismack Biyombo was expected to decline his player option for 2016-17 and according to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders, it become official this past weekend when he let the deadline pass without picking it up.
Biyombo is in line for a huge pay raise thanks to his production during the regular season and playoffs, however it can't come from the Raptors as they are expected to operate as an over-the-cap team in July. If that status doesn't change, the Raptors can only pay Biyombo a salary next season up to the 2016-17 Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception worth $5,628,000.
