MIAMI—When Heat coaches and players talk about 20-year-old rookie Justise Winslow, the word “mental stability” seems to come up a lot.
After receiving his first DNP-Coach’s Decision of his basketball career in Game 3 on Saturday, that trait became very useful for Winslow.
“(Justise) was down on himself, but we encouraged him to keep his head in it,” Goran Dragic said.
Winslow came back to play a big role two days later, logging 31 critical minutes off the bench in Miami’s Game 4 win over Toronto on Monday. Winslow scored nine points on 4-of-5 shooting and grabbed four rebounds in the victory, while sitting for just 57 seconds over the fourth quarter and overtime.
