While the deal isn’t official until the NBA League Office gives its blessing, Carmelo Anthony appears certain to be departing the New York Knicks. The OKC Thunder have agreed to send shooter Doug McDermott, improving inside banger Enes Kanter, and a 2018 second-round draft pick in exchange for ‘Melo.
Anthony will be joining a formidable duo in Oklahoma. Russell Westbrook, the reigning MVP, is already there, as is the brilliant Paul George. While Carmelo is on the wrong side of 30, I think he’ll be rejuvenated by playing alongside All-Star compadres. OKC certainly looks like it won this deal.
