It’s official: Kyle Lowry has opted out of the last year of his contract with the Toronto Raptors.

Although the star point guard already announced his intentions on Monday, ASM Sports, which represents him, confirmed the move on Twitter Friday.

“ASM client @Klow7 has officially opted out of his contract with the @Raptors. He had 7 days from the last game to execute,” the company tweeted.

The 31-year-old Philadelphia native signed a 4-year, $48 million deal with the Raptors in 2013.

Lowry and the Raptors were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the NBA playoffs this season, a year after losing the Eastern Conference final to the Cavs in six games.
