Live blog: The Raptors’ season tips off against Zion Williamson and the Pelicans

A season later, the Raptors finally get to see what all the fuss is about.

The Raptors open the 2020-21 season tonight with a “home” game in Tampa against the New Orleans Pelicans, and their first look at the much-ballyhooed young big man Zion Williamson.

The second-year Pelican missed both games against the Raptors last season because of injury, and Raptors coach Nick Nurse said this morning that OG Anunoby will get the job of trying to guard the young star.

“The guys that can bring it in transition — shoot it, post it, drive it, handle in the screen-and-roll, set in the screen-and-roll — those are the guys that are really tough because you’ve got to plan for so much,” Nurse said.
