On their way to a franchise-record 56-win season in 2015-16, the Toronto Raptors punched out a lot of weak teams. If we’re going to have any reasonable notion of how our team will perform this fall, we need to understand how the opposition has fared.
After all, free agency is all but wrapped up, and the Raptors have done nothing dramatic. The return of DeMar DeRozan and the departure of Bismack Biyombo were both predicted by us and many others long before they actually occurred.
That means the Raptors are neither markedly better nor worse than at the end of their remarkable playoff run.
