AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Toronto star Kyle Lowry is sitting out his team's game Sunday against the Detroit Pistons in what coach Dwane Casey said is an attempt to get the high-scoring guard some rest.
Lowry had played all 57 games this season for the Raptors, and he scored 43 points Friday in a win over Cleveland.
The Raptors entered Sunday with a 5 1/2-game lead over Boston in the Atlantic Division. They'll need to keep their players from getting worn down if they're going to make a lengthy run in the postseason.
