If you were being open-minded and gracious and even-tempered, you could have listened to Kawhi Leonard’s first public utterances since parade day and nodded in good-natured affirmation.
Never mind that Wednesday afternoon amounted to a grim moment for fans of the NBA champion Raptors. Never mind that Leonard, the man credited as the linchpin to that magical title run, was being introduced as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. Leonard, at least, made a point of directing his opening remarks due North.
“I want to thank the Toronto Raptor fans,” Leonard said. “You know, I don’t have social media, so I’m not able to put out a paragraph, or whatever.
