Kawhi Leonard’s sketchy journey to L.A. triggers NBA tamper tantrum

Last time we checked, the Los Angeles Clippers did not win the NBA championship back in June. No, you weren’t dreaming. Those were your Toronto Raptors gridlocked on those boozy buses.

Still, that small bit of trivia hasn’t stopped the Clippers from engaging in something that looks an awful lot like a victory lap. Consider the latest gloating from Clippers coach Doc Rivers published this week in the L.A. Times, wherein Rivers offered up a handful of details about his franchise’s successful free-agent courtship of Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard.

“I got a lot of credit, and so did Jerry West, but the guy that was the hero in all this was Lawrence Frank,” Rivers told the newspaper.
