Not every at-bat needs to be a home run. Not every swing needs to be for the fences. Sometimes you just need a bloop single. That’s exactly what Masai Ujiri and the Toronto Raptors opted for by signing Jodie Meeks to a rest-of-season-contract.
Jodie Meeks is a nine-year veteran with experience under his belt. He’s played significant minutes in the playoffs before, granted it’s not exactly “recent experience.” He’s not going to be a consistent part of Toronto’s playoff rotation. He’s there to provide a stable presence in the locker room and be an insurance option in case of the unthinkable.
